A great purchase!
I am one of those people who don’t read poetry or words. I have tried reading some to give it a try, but it didn’t take. I found Rashad on Instagram, and he is the first wordest / poet that I enjoy. His work is raw and you feel his emotions seeping through the pages of his book and also his snippets on Instagram. I found myself marking a lot of the pages in his book because there were so many passages and lines that I enjoyed. I wanted to keep track of that to later go back to. I loved his Life After Love sections 1 – 3. You felt for person going on through their journey. Some favorite pieces were Waiting Game and Universal. He not only gives you words he also gives you advice from personal experiences in Solo Cents.
Pieces From A Beating Heart is a fast read, but an ENJOYABLE read. Check out his Instagram at r.solo if you want a sneak peak and enjoy the work of an indie author doing what he loves to do; write. There’s no one holding him back not from his word, or passion.

Truly "pieces" from a beating heart... Each piece leaves you wanting more. These pieces resonate with parts of you that has known love and heartbreak. I wish some pieces were wholes instead because the stories were enticing. Nevertheless, it was a good read
Pieces from a beating heart was so relatable I felt like it had been written for me. I couldn't put it down, I couldn't wait to finish it, but I never wanted it to end, and the minute I finished reading I wanted to read it again. Whether you have love or lost love this book will make you feel beautiful things. It was refreshing and faith restoring to read such emotives from a male perspective and it's not at all "chick lit". I would recommend this to everyone who has a love for well written, realistic prose and poetry.
There are very few authors that have the gift of arranging words in a manner, that make you not want to put down their book. Mr. Solo has this gift along with a plethora of others, as exemplified throughout his beautiful collection of work,” Pieces from A Beating Heart.” This work is brilliantly comprised of poetry and prose, that was finely mended to successfully engage the reader with every turn of the page. Although it attractively poses “honest insight from a male perspective,” which is already deemed gold to readers that are women, it is versatile across the sexes. It was a very enjoyable read for myself, and I highly recommend it to others!
